For the first time ever Google showed an advertisement during the Super Bowl. As guessed correctly by John Battelle it was “Parisian Love”, a cute story around a guy searching for topics around Paris.
I like it. What do you think?
What is obviously a mistake is written underneath each title of a search result. Not only for the keyword “Google” but also for any other search query you throw at it. :-)
Google’s sponsored search results now include products and images. A search for diamonds displays a text ad from Blue Nile and on click more information plus an image ad without leaving the page. The same applies for Google’s sidebar ads.
Combine Google Finance, the stock market freefall and an advertisement which pops up on a search for “Goog” (Google’s Nasdaq symbol): “Before you jump out of that window, why not spend your last remaining dollars at Woot?”
If it’s a great marketing stunt by Woot I wonder what Google Adwords they used. If not that’s the negative side of computer generated ads I guess :)
