So what do the big brands do for keeping in touch with customers? A new study by analyst Charlene Li of the Altimeter Group ranks the top 100 brands by social media engagement.

[Update] Facebook shut it down due to privacy issues as they say. 233,906 friends were removed by 82,771 people in less than a week.
