I’m more and more amazed of products imitating the Apple iPod look, even though they’ve got nothing to do with the company from Cupertino. Below are some W5 Carcare Air Fresheners that come in 3 flavors: “Oriental”, “Exotic” and “Ocean”. Want more? I found a great list of weird forms and shapes here.
A bit old but still a classic video showing what would have happened to the packaging design and branding if Microsoft had designed the iPod, for example: “I-pod Pro 2005 Human Ear Professional Edition (with Subscription)”
I just read the headline “Tech Stocks slip as Palm and RIM decline” and am wondering what SmartMoney (innovators of the famous “Map of the Market”) wants to imply!?
As if “loser brands” such as Palm and RIM would have anything to do with a decline of other tech stocks. For me this looks like a case of fewer people wanting to buy an outdated, unsexy device and turn to Apple with the iPhone, HTC or the Motorola Droid than the industry having a problem in general.
Amazing what fake means today! Even though this first counterfeit of the iPhone wouldn’t mislead an expert, the things have progressed well, the device being identical from the outside and simulating even the functions of the true device of Apple.
The cultural differences of both companies are reflected in their current commercials. Who’s getting more momentum out of the campaigns?
Apple and Microsoft are constantly throwing adverts at their users not showing cool product features but promoting their company image. While Apple’s “Get a Mac” campaign tries to present the mac as progressive and cool, the PC as conservative and boring, Microsoft is using various types of spots to answer Apple’s commercials.
Microsoft parks a “I’m a PC” promotion booth right in front of the Apple store in Birmingham, England. The move is an extension of the Redmond-based software giant’s $300 million advertising campaign aimed at cleaning up the image of its Windows Vista operating system, which has been tarnished at the hands of Apple’s long-running “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” ads.
Graphic artist Christopher David Ryan made great prints utilizing the “Apple” or “Command” Key made popular in OS X. The Apple geeks will understand the meaning: Open, Your mind (Command + O = Open)
Once again a great advert from the Get a Mac Campaign by Apple Inc. In comparison to the other new ads this one is funny and with a devastating aggressive message at the end.
Lawyers for Apple Inc. have sent a letter to the Victoria School of Business and Technology claiming the logo is confusingly similar to theirs. More “Apple logos” used by education institues after the click.
