To lure trendy and fashion-conscious Japanese KOOL cigarettes uses a very cool packaging. The box was developed specifically for distribution through Japan’s Circle K Sunkus convenience store chain and features a snake style design without any warnings like Europe and the USA have to display. “With packaging like this available, it’s no wonder that a lot of fashion-conscious Japanese youth continue to smoke.”, says Japan Marketing News.

Founded in 1966 as Sound of Music and renamed to Best Buy in 1983, the consumer electronics giant is one of the largest retailers of its kind with its low prices. After years of using the old logo that looked like a $1 bin, Best Buy now has a very modern and clean new logo. With over 1,000 stores worldwide Best Buy will have to spend a great deal of money to rebrand their locations.

With Adobe’s upcoming launch of the CS3 Suite the company will have rebranded over hundreds of their icons.
Veerle writes:
While this color-wheel beautifully presents the approach in the entire re-branding, I think it fails in bringing the message across on how it will tie together as a whole. The idea is great though but the color-wheel is very overwhelming, taking away all the attention and the icons are scattered over the place. People seems to fail to grasp the bigger picture. It seems that most just want to make it look pretty because the app is giving these possibilities, but it’s more than that, it’s about problem-solving too. It’s a major undertaking to revamp and re-brand both Adobe’s and Macromedia’s apps as one brand, we’re talking thousands of icons.

Following our last post about branded nails, here’s another nail design I find great: Apple’s logo on silver background color, from a woman who fell in love with the iPod:

I just found out that the third biggest bank of Spain, La Caixa, keeps it like Chupa Chups with Salvador Dali. In 1980 the spanish savings institute took a painting by Joan Miro as basis for its logo: a blue star, a yellow and red dot.
I’m wondering if there are even more artists, painters and the likes who inspire or create logos for companies!?
