Adobe’s Icon Rebranding

December 27th, 2006

Adobe Icon Rebranding

With Adobe’s upcoming launch of the CS3 Suite the company will have rebranded over hundreds of their icons.

Veerle writes:
While this color-wheel beautifully presents the approach in the entire re-branding, I think it fails in bringing the message across on how it will tie together as a whole. The idea is great though but the color-wheel is very overwhelming, taking away all the attention and the icons are scattered over the place. People seems to fail to grasp the bigger picture. It seems that most just want to make it look pretty because the app is giving these possibilities, but it’s more than that, it’s about problem-solving too. It’s a major undertaking to revamp and re-brand both Adobe’s and Macromedia’s apps as one brand, we’re talking thousands of icons.

Evolution Of A Dove Advertisement

December 15th, 2006

I have seen a very interesting video about the development of an advertisement for Dove beauty products.

As you might imagine, the video shows the path from an “ugly” looking woman to a pretty one after using the products, eh after using eyeshadow, hair styling and photo editing (as usual).

No matter if it is for real or not, the video is great :)

Hej! Drinks LogoShortly after its smoothie market introduction, the brand Hello! Drinks had to change its name to Hej! Drinks.

Avid readers of Brand Infection had read the news about Hello’s initial and interactive brand development.

The official press release is here.

Unofficial Apple iPhone Details From Kevin Rose

December 4th, 2006

I just read on TechCrunch that Digg’s founder Kevin Rose has some good inside information on the upcoming iPhone.

According to Kevin there are two models coming up, 4 GB and 8 GB, priced at $249 and $449. No word on whether they’ll be shipping an unlocked version of the phone, but Kevin says Apple is adding both GSM and CDMA radios into the iPhone, making it truly carrier-independent. The device will have a slide out keyboard, a touch screen and two batteries (one for the MP3 player, one for the phone).

Alpecin - Doping for your hair

December 3rd, 2006

werbung_alpecin.jpgAlpecin, a german cosmetics producer, had released its hair treatment campaign “Doping for your hair” in the summer of 2006.

Till today there are massive critics from athletes going on, wanting to stop the advertisements. The German cycling federation says it has not anything to do with it and, actually, there wasn’t any criticism until the doping incidents during La Tour de France.

Brandmeyer Markenberatung created the ad, then the founder of Alpecin initiated a survey where people should vote whether or not they find the advertisement misleading: 64% of the voters were positive, only about 20% said they’re having negative feelings.

It is a fact that caffeine improves performance and is detectable in the hair roots, nevertheless it is not on the doping list anymore.

Overreaction?
